Weaving professional insights with his personal experiences as a transgender man living well in recovery with mental health diagnoses and an invisible neurological disorder, this session will address how to best serve the transgender community in dental practice settings. Along with an overview of basic terminology and communication strategies, this presentation will cover common challenges facing transgender individuals and offer strategic best practice guidance for those who serve them. Uplifting and motivational, Nate’s message of hope and recovery will both educate and inspire all those who identify or work with the LGBTQ community, mental health, or medically complex cases.
